Grisby Named to the California Pacific Conference 2nd All-Team

Grisby Named to the California Pacific Conference 2nd All-Team

ANGWIN, CA- At the conclusion of each season, the California Pacific Conference looks at all of their players and analyze and compare their stats picking out the best and placing them in either first or second all-conference team. This year the Pioneers men's soccer had one player nominated on second team.

Junior, George Grisby has completed his second successful year as a Pioneer after transferring from American River College. Grisby is a Center Back and Defensive middle from Sacramento, California. He has been a dominant defensive force on the field throughout the season. Without Grisby on the field, opponents would have found the back of the net more frequently and the Pioneers would not be where they are today without him.

Last year, Grisby was nominated to the honorable mention list and has shown tremendous improvement since then. The Pioneers are grateful for the recognition and have hopes that more Pioneers will be on the list next year.

Head coach Archie Asare states, "George Grisby was a stand out student athlete this past year. After getting nominated last year as honorable mention, he said it was not good enough. With hard work and dedication he moved up. Great work by him and his teammate who supported him."

Other awards included player of the year, defensive player of the year, newcomer of the year, freshman of the year, and coach of the year. The awards were given to Enrique Amador, Andy Galvan, Oriol Lopez, Mason Laaksonen, and Albert Martins, respectively.
